Course Outcomes

 

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1

Understand how a tea plantation grows and the appropriate soil requirements including the importance of pruning in tea production.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2

Implement and understand the importance of the tea nursery and planting of tea plants into the field.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3

Implement an effective weed control and fertiliser program.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4

Identify plant diseases and disorders and implement appropriate action to rectify the plantation.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 5

Identify pests and apply appropriate and effective scouting and control measures and procedures.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 6

Apply appropriate irrigation system to a tea plantation.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 7

Implement appropriate harvesting, pulping and marketing systems for tea.

 

4 Week course at 5 hours per week as a guide, but students can complete on own time
