Description
Farm Planning Correspondence Course
Course Overview
The Farm Planning Studies Online Course provides learners with a strong foundation in soil science and its essential role in effective farm planning and crop production. The course focuses on understanding soil types, soil properties, water, air, and organic matter, and how these factors influence plant growth, productivity, and sustainable land use.
Learners will gain practical knowledge of mineral and organic soil components, soil texture and structure, nutrient-holding capacity, and soil classification. The course also covers soil water management, soil acidity, brak soils, erosion control, fertiliser recommendations, and mechanical soil protection methods used in modern farming systems.
This course is ideal for farmers, farm managers, agricultural students, and anyone involved in land use planning, crop production, and sustainable agricultural practices.
The course runs over 4 weeks with a recommended study time of approximately 5 hours per week and is fully self-paced, allowing learners to complete the training in their own time.
Farm Planning Correspondence Course is AgriSETA accredited under Nosa Agricultural Services.
