The management of fertiliser distributors, crop sprayers and silage machinery is also explained, along with hay making machinery, harvesting machinery, barn machinery and milking machines.

Course Outcomes

 

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1

Understand the importance of power rating of tractors, types of tractors and different types of trailers used.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2

Understand the different types of ploughs and ploughing which includes marking out, finishing. ploughing the headland, round and round ploughing, one-way ploughing and minimum tillage.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3

The learner will learn and identify cultivating machinery such as disc harrows, cultivators, rollers, ridgers and levellers.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 4

Understand and be able to identify the different seed drills and planters.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 5

The learner will be able to manage fertiliser distributors, crop sprayers and silage machinery.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 6

The learner will be able to manage hay making machinery such as mowers, conditioning machines and balers and will be able to handle bales.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 7

The learner will be able to identify and understand the harvesting machinery such as combine harvesters and identify other harvesting machinery and other machines.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 8

Understand and implement barn machinery, care of machinery and tractor outputs.

SPECIFIC OUTCOME 9

The learner will be able to understand the different milking machines such as the bucket plant, pipeline milking and milking parlours.

 

4 Week course at 5 hours per week as a guide, but students can complete on own time
