SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
This module is made up of four specific outcomes, which are further broken out into assessment criteria. The four specific outcomes are:
SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1
Introduction to potato production and the different varieties.
SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2
The learner will be able to understand the importance of land preparation, planting techniques, time of planting, seeding rates and understand and implement irrigation of a potato crop.
SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3
The learner will be able to understand the fertilisation requirements for a potato crop and identify the pests and diseases and the importance of the control measures.
SPECIFIC OUTCOMES 4
Understand the importance of harvesting methods and processes such as the grading process of potato.
3 Week course at 5 hours per week as a guide, but students can complete on own time
