This course will teach you about the different elements that affect plant growth. It will teach you about optimum plant nutrition and the different ways of fertilising for best results. It also contains useful information on the use of the latest herbicides and pesticides. This course forms part of the National Certificate in Plant Production NQF Level 4. This course explains how the management of the farm business works, explaining topics such as the gross margin budgeting system, the calculation of forage hectares, cash flow budgets, farm budgets and how to plan end allocate resources and record keeping. The factors affecting the profitability of the cattle, dairy, sheep, pigs and poultry enterprises are also discussed, along with factors needed to successfully manage a farm, such as management, planning, organising, motivation and control.
